Common Terms Used in Control Valve Applications
In the application of the control valve, many terminologies are used that may sometimes sound confusing and ambiguous but refers to distinct components, devices and processes. Here we introduce some of these common terms to aid understanding of the application of control valves:
Actuator
An actuator is a pneumatic, hydraulic or electrically powered device which supplies force and motion to open or close a valve. see Control Valve Actuators: Basic types and Designs.
Bench-set
