Luyong Restaurant at Concepcion I Marikina | Review

Chinese cuisine is one of the favorite foods to be eaten by Filipino people: A fact that we cannot deny since one of the leading fast-food brands in the country is a Chinese fast-food restaurant. The Chinese culture has been an undeniably significant part of the Filipino culture, that whenever you ask a Filipino citizen on what his favorite Filipino food is, chances are that he will be mentioning a food that originated from China (Siomai, Siopao, Pancit, and Shanghai are just a few of them). Come on, who doesn't love their flavorful and mouth-watering fried rice.

Every time I go out of the country, once in a while my stomach craves for a nice rice meal or any Asian tasting dish. Not that I am saying that I don't love American foods like the burger and the fries, everyone who personally knows me that I order fast food like 2 to 3 times a week or even more. Going back to the topic, this thing just justifies that Chinese cuisine is already a part of the lives of most Asian people.

Luyong, how did it come up with its name?

Luyong Lamuan - Marikina

Established and started in the time of 1950s by the couple Luisa Fong and Luyong, Luyong Restaurant (the Concepcion branch to be exact) continues to serve Chinese and Filipino cuisine to its growing number and always coming back customers. The particular branch, is currently being managed by one of their sons, can cater to as many as 70 persons in its fully air-conditioned ground floor and function rooms and up to 160 in the spacious second-floor multi-purpose function hall. Additional amenities such as a wide-screen videoke, LCD projector, and disco/ballroom lights are also available.

I personally had the opportunity of dining in this Luyong restaurant and I have to give credit that area is very spacious (in a good way). The ambiance is very nice and you will feel very comfortable eating inside since a lot of their personnel will be assisting you until your done.

Now about their food, not only that they are very affordable but the satisfaction it will give you will surprise you. It is both stomach and wallet-friendly : ) Here are some of their signature dishes.

I even had the chance to go back with a few friends and they really enjoyed both the food and the place. It is such a wonderful experience especially for first-time visitors, food lovers, and even the road trip adventurers to visit the restaurant.

My personal favorite from their menu is the Yang Chow fried rice with the combination of crispy shrimp Camaron. Although the Yang Chow fried rice has little shrimps on it already, there is just something with their giant Camarons plus its sauce that completes the flavor in my tongue. Yuuumm-mmy, Ohhh-la-la!
