Love, lies and bad parenting...with a realistic resolution
I have already read several of this author's biker books...Dante's Nine and the Depraved Club series...so I was curious to see what she would do with the topic of a family drama involving a romance between step siblings. It was surprisingly pretty good, considering there are so many books of this type out right now, and I was pleased with the storyline. It was not all just taboo, erotica between a girl and her step-brother (they knew each other before their parents got married) but more a steamy, sad and emotional little drama about a son who can do no good in the eyes of his over-bearing father, a daughter who feels neglected and forced to take on the role of caretaker to her own mother and a web of lies and deceit that have kept a mother and son apart for many years.
There are friends who play roles in the lives of these two star-crossed lovers and they provide some added fluff to the story, and while some of the actions were predictable and completely expected, I still enjoyed...
