The poverty line

The Henderson poverty line (income-based) is a useful guide when examining the concept of equity. The proportion of people living below the poverty line has increased from approximately 8% in the 1970s to over 14% in the 1990s. Unfortunately, poverty amongst dependent children has risen the most.
