शाब्दिक अर्थ : शब्द Electrostatic दो शब्दों Electro जिसका अर्थ होता है 'आवेश' तथा Static जिसका अर्थ होता है 'स्थिर' से बना है |
स्थिर वैध्युतिकी ( Electrostatic ) = Electro ( आवेश ) + Static ( स्थिर )

परिभाषा : विज्ञान की वह शाखा जिसके अंतर्गत स्थिर आवेशों का अध्ययन किया जाता है , स्थिर वैद्युतिकी कहलाती है |
