Remove background from an image using GIMP

Open an image in GIMP application.
Click on "Select by Color Tool" icon in the left panel.
Then click on the background of the image you want to remove.
Then go to "Select - Invert" menu.
Then go to "Edit - Cut" menu.
Then paste the image in the transparent new layer.
 Then export the image as "PNG".
