GS3 Approach

GS3 has been my favourite and I generally reserved it to study when I was bored of the remaining topics. It has many sub-parts, so I made topic wise notes and kept adding points from current affairs over time.

Subject

My notes
Economy
  1. Mrunal videos (great to start with)
  2. NCERTs
  3. Any standard book (I did Ramesh Singh, totally optional)
  4. Current Affairs
  5. Economic Survey (I looked forward to this document all year. It was my favourite read and I went overboard by making notes myself and reading past 5 years surveys. You may refer to my notes for value add points to use in mains)
  6. Budget

    Security
    1. Any standard book (I did Vajiram yellow book)
    2. Current affairs

      Environment
      1. Shankar IAS material
      2. Current Affairs
      3. ARC for Disaster Management (find any summary)

        S&T
        Current affairs

I practiced diagrams and graphs that I could use in my answers. I tried to include facts like India's ranking in indexes and conclusions from international reports. Also paid attention to expert opinions like MS Swaminathan on stubble burning, Jean Dreze on PDS etc. but could rarely recall them in test environment.
