CLASS 7 FRACTIONS & DECIMALS- BLOG 1
Good morning boys
BEFORE WE START THE LESSON KINDLY CLICK ON THE FOLLOWING LINK TO MARK YOUR ATTENDANCE
After this blog, the learners will be able to:
i. Recall types of fractions
ii. Recapitulate addition and subtraction of fractions
iii. Write the fractions into ascending and descending orders.
Let us recall what we have done in class 6.
A fraction is a part of a whole.
Eg.
Note:
1. 4/4 =1 whole
2. 3/4 < 1
TYPES OF FRACTIONS:
1. 3/4- (Numerator < Denominator, So it is a PROPER FRACTION).
2. 6/4- (Numerator > Denominator, So it is IMPROPER FRACTION).
3.
(MIXED FRACTION).
(MIXED FRACTION).4.
(Numerator is 1 so it is a UNIT FRACTION.)
(Numerator is 1 so it is a UNIT FRACTION.)5.
(LIKE FRACTIONS as the denominators are the same).
(LIKE FRACTIONS as the denominators are the same).6.
(UNLIKE FRACTIONS as the denominators are different).
(UNLIKE FRACTIONS as the denominators are different).LETS LEARN TO ADD AND SUBTRACT THE LIKE FRACTIONS:

On adding like fractions we just add the numerator but not the denominator.
Eg. 4/5 + 2/5 = (4+2)/5 = 6/5.
NOW LETS LEARN TO ADD AND SUBTRACT UNLIKE FRACTIONS.
The same rule applies for subtraction.
EX- 2.1
Now attempt Q1 of Ex 2.1 on page 31.
Part (v) and (vi) are done for you.
Now lets go to Q2
Arrange in descending order.
You may now attempt Ex 2.1 on page 31 Q2. (One is done for you)
ASSIGNMENT:
1. DO Q3 as HOMEWORK.
2. ARRANGE THE FOLLOWING FRACTIONS IN ASCENDING ORDER (in rough copies):

THAT IS ALL FOR TODAY!!
Have a good day.
