CLASS 7 MATHS INTEGERS- BLOG 2

INTEGERS

Good morning students.

I am sure you did yesterday’s HW. For those who were not very sure of their answers check them online.

A few guidelines to go through the blog.

  1. the text in blue is to be written in your Notebook.
  2. the text in violet is to viewed by clicking on it.

The students will be able to -

  1.  Know the additive inverse of an integer
  2.  Check whether the given 3x3 square is a Magic Square or not
  3.  Comparison of integers after performing the operation of addition and subtraction on them

Explanation

The additive inverse of a number a is the number that, when added to a, yields zero. This number is also known as the opposite (number), sign change.
                                                                                                                                                                 Answers
(i) Additive inverse of −83 =                  −(−83) = 83

(ii) Additive inverse of 256 =                 −(256) = −256

(iii) Additive inverse of 0 =
−(0) = 0

(iv) Additive inverse of 2001 =              −(−2001) = 2001

Click on the link for Q8(i)

Try Ex 1.1 Q8(ii),(iii),(iv)(TO BE DONE IN THE NOTEBOOKS)

Magic Square is an arrangement of numbers in a particular way in square grid.
To check whether a given grid is a magic square or not
1. Find sum of numbers in both the diagonals
2. Calculate sum of each rows and columns.
3. If the sum of numbers in both the diagonals  is equal to every row’s sum and every column’s sum, then it is magic matrix.
Look at the magic square given below

Try doing Q7
Question 9.Use the sign of >, < or = in the box to make the statements true:(TO BE COPIED IN THE NOTEBOOKS)

(a)
Ans.L.H.S = 84                                 R.H.S = 8+4
                     = -12                                          = - 4
                                         –12 < 4
Try doing Q9 (b),(c),(d),(e)
Home Assignments

Now you should be able to complete NCERT Ex. 1.1 Q7,8,9

Fun Activity     https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zPnN046OM34

BEFORE I end THIS LESSON LET ME REMIND THAT
(1)EACH AND EVERY WORD THAT HAS BEEN ASKED TO BE COPIED IN THE NOTEBOOKS SHOULD BE DONE PROPERLY IN FAIR AND

(2) SUBMITTED AS SOON AS THE SCHOOL REOPENS....

KINDLY KEEP THE SHEETS / OLD COPIES CAREFULLY TO COPY THE WORK IN YOUR FAIR NOTE BOOKS LATER

(3)INDEX TO BE DRAWN NEATLY

(4)DATE SHOULD BE WRITTEN ON THE LEFT SIDE TOP OF EACH PAGE.

(5)ROUGH COLUMN TO BE MADE ON THE RIGHT TO SHOW THE ROUGH WORK AGAINST EACH QUESTION.

(6) ONLY ONE REGISTER PER TERM  TO BE USED FOR BOTH C.W & H.W
