Learning outcomes :

• identify the given pair of lines as parallel or intersecting
• identify a transversal
• generalize the relationship between the angles formed by a pair of parallel lines

Intersecting Lines :

When two or more lines cross each other in a plane, they are called intersecting lines.

Point of intersection. 

 The intersecting lines share a common point, which exists on all the intersecting lines, and is called the point of intersection. 

Here, lines P and Q intersect at point O, which is the point of intersection. 

(a)Are all perpendicular lines intersecting lines ?

yes

(b)Are all intersecting lines perpendicular ?

not always
