As we know that the Class 10 Board Exam 2021 Madhyamik and Class 12 Board Exam 2021 Higher Secondary have been cancelled in the state. In the year 2020 The West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education on 17^th July,2020 declared results of the class 12 board examination. A total of 7.61 lakh aspirants appeared in the exam, out of them 90.13% passed. This is the highest ever pass percent recorded in the class 12 board exams in the West Bengal.In 2019, 86.29% students had cleared the exam,” said Mahua Das, president of the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education.

At least four students got 499 out of 500. More than 50% of the successful candidates passed in the first division scoring more than 60% marks. At least 30,220 students scored 90% and above. In 2019 only 7818 students got 90% and above marks. While this year nearly 85,000 students scored between 80% and 89%, in 2019 only around 48,000 was in this grade.

State's higher education institutions, it is hereby informed to all concerned that admissions to all Under Graduate courses (Honours and General) in the State-funded higher education institutions in West Bengal for the ensuing academic session 2021-22 will be made online (stand-alone mode) w.e.f. (date will be given soon) as per the modalities detailed below:

• On-line admission process should be done based on merit. Prospective students should not be called for counselling or verification of documents during the whole process of admission.
• Note: No physical presence will be required at the colleges / university (if any).
• Eligible students should be informed directly by the college authorities through letter of e-mail or telecommunication.
• Payment of fees should be done only through e-payment or designated banks and not physically at the colleges.
• List of eligible candidates should be handed over to the designated bank branches for verification during payment through banks. Banks will receive admission fees on the basis of merit list.
• All testimonials are required to be uploaded during online application. Verification of documents, if required, should be done only when the students report for the classes in due course. Admission will be cancelled if the documents are found not in conformity with the
• declaration in the forms submitted on-line.

All stakeholders shall adhere to the COVID-19 norms / protocol, issued by the Government time to time.

Vice-Chancellors of all State-aided Universities are requested to take necessary steps in this regard, including issuing suitable instructions to all the affiliated institutions.
