CM Yogi request Akanksha Singh be named NEET 2020 topper along with Soyeb Aftab

NEET 2020: UP CM Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday ordered the Chief Secretary of the state to write a letter to the National Testing Agency (NTA) to get the first position in the All India Rank for National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) 2020. Information was later given to the press.

Let me tell you that the NEET exam is conducted every year for admission to medical college. The results of the NEET examination were released on 16 October this year. In this year's NEET exam, Soyeb Aftab got the 1st rank by scoring full marks which were seen for the first time in this examination.

But the main problem arose when it came to know that Akanksha Singh, who got the 2nd rank this year, has also obtained the marks. Just then, the debate had arisen as to why Akanksha ranks 2nd despite having the same number.

Replying to this, NTA said that there is a rule for determining rank in NEET exam called tie-breaking policy, according to which, the rank of the student will be seen by bringing the same marks. Now according to rule Soyeb have older than Akanksha, so he was given the 1st rank and Akanksha got the 2nd rank.

"Soyeb Aftab of Odisha and Akanksha Singh of Delhi have both scored a perfect 720 score in the NEET 2020 examination. However, as Aftab is older, he has been ranked at the top in the national ranking," an NTA official had said.

Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday praised Akanksha Singh and called him an all-girls role model.

Congratulating him, he announced that the entire cost of his bachelors and meals would be borne by the state government.
