NEET Counseling 2020: Registration Start From Today, Important Points For Admission Process

NTA NEET 2020 counseling is set to kick off from today. The registration process for NEET counseling 2020 for admission to govt medical and dental colleges will begin today, October 27. Aspirants who have qualified for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET 2020) are eligible to register for NEET counseling at mcc.nic.in (official website). NEET counseling 2020 for the states will be done by respective state authorities. Some states already started their state counseling for example Goa & Puducherry.

According to the official notification released by NTA, the NEET 2020 counseling registration process will start on October 27 and will conclude on November 2 (5 pm), however, candidates will be allowed to pay the requisite fee for the same till November 2 (7 pm). The result of the first round seat allotment will be declared on November 5. MCC (official counseling authority) has also released an official notification for PwD candidates to obtain a disability certificate at the center to avail 5% reservation.

Now if candidates are satisfied with the seat allotted will be needed to report at the respective college between November 6 to 12 (reporting time) for the document verification. For that process, they need to carry official documents like the 10th & 12th mark sheet, Birth certificate, Aadhar card, Neet 2020 Result, Neet admit card, etc.

In case candidates unsatisfied with their allotted seat can wait for the 2nd round. The seats remaining after the first round of NEET counseling will be available in the second round.

As a relief to candidates seeking admission to MBBS, BDS colleges, no special documents will be needed at the time of registration since the counseling is being held online. However, they will be required to carry the following documents at the time of reporting at the college.

➧Result/ Rank letter

➧Date of birth certificate

➧Class 10 and 12 mark sheets and certificates

➧Eight passports sized photographs

➧Provisional allotment letter

➧Identity proof

➧Reservation certificate, as applicable

Counseling authorities will conduct two rounds of AIQ online counseling for admission into medical & dental colleges. Candidates who have qualified for All India Quota seats based on the rank obtained in NEET UG result 2020 (except the Union Territory of J&K) are eligible. If a seat is left vacant after that, a mop-up round will be held on December 10 for Deemed/ Central Universities/Central Institutes. The seats remaining vacant after round 2 NEET 2020 counseling of AIQ and the mop-up round will be reverted to the respective states.

The Directorate General of Health Sciences (DGHS) will hold Neet 2020 Counseling, for 15% AIQ seats, on behalf Medical Counselling Committee (MCC). For state quota (SQ) seats, NEET-UG 2020 counseling will be held by respective state authorities and for that, you need to check the Official websites of your state counseling authority.

The Medical entrance exam NEET was held on September 13, 2020, for over 15 lakh registered candidates. For candidates who could not appear in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test, a special exam was also conducted on October 14, 2020.

The result of NEET 2020 for both phases 1 & 2 was declared on October 16. According to NTA, out of the total candidates who appeared in NEET 2020, 56.44% have qualified for this medical entrance exam.
