Today we are going to tell you about Noun, Definition of noun, Types of noun and examples which will be very important for all your upcoming competitive exams. And competitive students should be able to get acquainted with the necessary information from the examination point of view.   

Definition :- The name of Person, animal, place,thing, conditions etc. is called Noun .(

  • person: man, woman, teacher, John, Mary
  • place: home, office, town, countryside, America
  • thing: table, car, banana, money, music, love, 
  • Animal: dog, monkey, lion
Types of Noun:- 2 type of noun

1. Concrete Noun
2. Abstract Noun

1.] Concrete Noun :- the noun which can be seen is called concrete Noun.

Concrete Noun has four types :- 

A.] Common Noun :- The noun which denotes common person, animal, place and thing is called common Noun.
Examples - Man, woman, teacher, doctor, tiger, dog, monkey, cat, pen, state, book etc.

B.] Proper Noun :- the noun which denotes proper person, place etc. Is called Proper Noun.
Exam. - Pawan, Rajasthan, Tennis, Cancer, Hindi, English etc.

C.] Material Noun :- The noun which denotes gaseous, solid or liquid form of material is called material noun.
Exam. - Gold, Sliver, oil, petrol, Diesel, milk, juice, sand etc.

D. ] Collective Noun :- The noun which denotes group of persons, animals things etc. is called collective noun.
Exam. - People, army, police, crowd, pride, cattle, vermin, bunch, wreath etc.

2.] Abstract Noun :- The noun which denotes feeling, thought etc. is called Abstract Noun.
Exam. Honestry, Goodness, Bedness, friendship, growth etc.
 
Abstract Noun has two types 

A. ] Countable Noun :- The noun which can be counted is called countable noun.
Exam. - two boys, four apple, six room, etc.

B.] Uncountable Noun :- The noun which can't be counted is called uncountable noun.
Exam. - some milk, give me some money etc.
