SIMPLE TO COMPLEX

Rule-1: Present participle যুক্ত Simple Sentence-কে Complex করার নিয়ম :

Present participle এর বাকী অংশটি যে Tense- এ থাকে, Present Participle এর অংশকেও একই Tense-এ গঠন করতে হয় একই subject দিয়ে । দুবাক্যের মাঝে comma (,) বসে।

প্রথম sentence এর প্রথমে since / as / when বসে। কারণ বুঝালে since/as বসে। সময় বুঝালে when বসে।

Simple: Closing the door, I went back to work. .

Complex: When I closed the door, I went back to work.

Rule-2: Being যুক্ত Simple Sentenceকে Complex Sentence-এ পরিণত করার নিয়ম :

Being এর বাকী Sentence টি যে Tense-এ থাকে, Being এর অংশকে সেই একই tense এ গঠন করতে হয়। Sentence এর মাঝে Comma (,) বসে। Being যুক্ত Sentence এ Subject না থাকলে একই Subject দুটি Sentence এ বসে। প্রথম Sentence এর প্রথমে since/as/ when বসে। কারণ বুঝালে as / since বসে এবং সময় বুঝালে When বসে।

Simple: The water being very hot, I could not drink it.

Complex: Since the water was very hot, I could not drink it.

Simple: Being poor, Jim could not buy a chain.

Complex: Since Jim was poor, he could not buy a chain. 

Simple: The game being over, we started for home.

Complex: When the game was over, we started for home.

Rule-3: Too+to Simple Sentence Complex Sentence এ পরিণত করার নিয়ম : প্রথম too- এর জায়গায় so বসে, এছাড়া to এর পূর্ব পর্যন্ত আর কোন পরিবর্তন হয় না + that বসে + প্রথম Subject আবারো বসে + tense অনুযায়ী can not/ could not বসে + to উঠে যায় + বাকী অংশ বসে।

Simple: He is too weak to move.

Complex: He is so weak that he can not move. 

Simple: Jerry was too honest to show excuse.

Complex: Jerry was so honest that he could not show excuse.

Simple: It is too interesting story for us to overlook.

Complex: It is so interesting story for us that we cannot overlook it.

Rule–4 : উদ্দেশ্যমূলক Simple Sentence কে Complex করার নিয়ম :

Sentence এর প্রথম থেকে to এর পূর্ব পর্যন্ত বসে + so that বসে + প্রথম কর্তা পুনরায় বসে + Tense অনুযায়ী may / can অথবা might / could/ বসে (present tense হলে may / can এবং past tense হলে might / could বসে + to এর পরের অংশ বসে।

Simple: Delia sold her hair to buy a gift for Jim.

Complex: Delia sold her hair so that she could buy a gift for Jim.

Simple: He works hard to shine in life. 

Complex: He works hard so that he may shine in life.

Rule-5: Inspite of Simple Sentence কে complex-এ পরিণত করার নিয়ম :

Inspite of এর পরিবর্তে Though / Although বসে + | Subject বসে + verb বসে + Adjective / Noun বসে + comma বসে + অপর বাক্যটি বসে।

Simple: Inspite of his being healthy, he is lazy.

Complex: Though he is healthy, he is lazy. 

Simple: Inspite of his having riches, he leads a poor life.

Complex: Although he has riches, he leads a poor life.

Rule-6: Because of Simple Sentence Complex- এ পরিবর্তনের নিয়ম :

প্রথমে Since বসে + Subject বসে + Verb বসে + Adjective/ Noun বসে + Comma বসে + অপর বাক্যটি বসে।

Simple: Because of my illness, I could not join the meeting.

Complex: Since I was ill, I could not join the meeting.

Simple: Because of their playing well, they won the game. 

Complex: Since they played well, they won the game.

Rule-7: Subject + verb+ object+ Present participle যুক্ত Simple Sentence পরিবর্তনের নিয়ম :

Complex Sentence 4 Subject Verb + Objcet +Object Relative pronoun Tense & Relative pronounbe verb বসে ও Present Participle বসে।

Simple: I saw a bird flying. 

Complex: I saw a bird which was flying. 

তবে pronominal object (me, us, you, him, them, her) থাকলে নিয়মটি হবে নিম্নরূপ :

Subject+ verb + that/ when + object fus Subjective form+Tense be verb + present participle সহ বাকি অংশ ।

Simple: I saw him reading.

Complex: I saw that he was reading. or I saw him when he was reading

Rule-8: Sub + verb + Adjective + Noun Simple Sentence কে Complex করার নিয়ম : Subject+ verb +Noun + Noun pronoun বসে Tense ও Noun অনুযায়ী be verb বসে + Relative adjective টি বসে। 

Simple: I saw a lame man.

Complex: I saw a man who was lame.

তবে Adjective টি Subject কে qualify করলে নিয়মটি হয় নিম্নরূপ :

It+tense be Verb + Subject + Subjectএর Relative pronoun verb + Adjective 

Simple: Health is wealth. 

Complex: It is health which is wealth.

Simple: He is a good student. 

Complex: It is he who is a good student.
