Step 2: Register for OpenCCC

OpenCCC is the website for the California Community Colleges. To signup, proceed thus:

• Use this link (https://www.openccc.net/uPortal/p/AccountCreation.ctf1/max/render.uP) to access the OpenCCC Website.
• Next, click on the "Begin Creating My Account" button.

• On the next page, fill in all your details and click the "Continue" button. While filling the form,  select "I don’t have a middle name". Also, select No for the Previous name & Preferred Name. And finally, select None for Suffix. If you do not wish to use your real names, then you can generate random US names from https://fake-it.ws/us/.
• On the next screen, enter your email address and the Phone number you got from Step 1 above. 

• Now, on the next step, you will have to provide your username, password and a 4 digit PIN for extra security. Once done, click on "Create My Account"
• Once you succeed in creating your account, you will get a screen like the one below and also receive an email containing your CCCID.

Step 3: Getting your .edu email

Now that you've" created an account at OpenCCC, it's time to get your .edu email. To do this, you will need to apply to one of the colleges.

• Click the continue button after your account has been created successfully and proceed.
• Now Apply for Diablo Valley College via this link https://www.opencccapply.net/uPortal/f/u67l1s1000/p/CCCApply.u67l1n1100/max/render.uP
• When you visit this link just after creating your OpenCCC account, you will be logged in. Click on the "Start New Application" button.
• Next, select the term and gaol
• Now, click on "My mailing address is the same as the Permanent Address in my OpenCCC Account above" and continue.
• On the next screen, select the college enrollment status "first time after leaving high school".
• Under High School Education, select "Received High School Diploma from U.S. School"
• Next, select yes and no respectively.
• Select I attended high school and then state California. Select school “Apple valley high” or Sacramento high. Select your own data if you are from the US.
• select G.P.A above 3-4. Select 12 grade AP English composition and literature, grade as ‘A’ and select algebra1 and grade’A’. Then continue.
• US citizen and military status none
• California residency yes other no and no.
• Select yes in every field. Athletic interest as no. Select a random programme and continue.
• Select your gender and sexual orientation straight. Guardian education level as a high school graduate and continue.
• Click Latino or Hispanic as ‘no and race white, European.
• Select city Austin and state California.
• No, No, 12, game respectively.
• Check every field and I consent and submit your application. Then just click continue.
• After a couple of days, you will then receive an email of your admission and the edu email.
