Qus. What are the types of tenses?

Ans. There are three types of tenses.

(1) Present tense ( वर्तमान काल) (is - है ), (am - हूँ ), (are - हो)

(2) Past tense (भुत काल) (was - था), (were - थे)

(3) Future tense ( भभिश्य काल ) (shall - गा), (will - गे या गी)★

Present indefinite tense

He writes.

Use of Do/dose in this sentence

Example

(1) He dose not write a letter.

(2) I do not play the game.

(3) Dose he write a letter.

(4) Dose he not write a letter.

(5) What does he write a letter.

(6) What dose he not write a letter.

Present continuous tense

Rull.(1) is, am, are, used in Present continuous tense.

Example

(1) She is going to my house.

(2) She is not going to my house.

(3) Is she going to my house.

(4) Is she not going to my house.

(5) What is she going to my house.

(6) What is she not going to my house.

Present perfect tense

Definition = प्रेजेंट परफेक्ट टेंस में चुका है, चुकी है, चुके हैं, आदि शब्द का प्रयोग होता है।

Rull [ sub + had + v³ + etc ]

Example

(1) Rahul has written a letter.

(2) She has worked.

(3) I have published you.

(4) you have worked hard.

(5) we have written a letter.

Present perfect continuous tense

Definition = 

Rull [ sub + has/have been + v⁴ ing + since/for ]

Example

(1) He has been working for two hours.

(2) Ram and Shyam has been walking for every day.

(3) Rita has been reading since two O' clock.

(4) Mamata has been working since 1969 in Gujarat.

(5) I have been teaching since 2012.

Past indefinite tense

Definition = past indefinite tense मे  क्रिया के अन्त ने होता था, होती थी, होते थें,  आदि शब्द आते हैं।

Rull [ sub + v² + other words ]

Rull [sub + did + v¹+ objects ]

Example

(1) She wrote a letter.

(2) I did not write a letter.

(3) she went to sity hospital.

(4) you did not go there.

(5) I went to school.

Past continuous tense

Definition

 पास्ट कंटीन्यूअस टेंस में हो रहा था, हो रही थी, हो रहे
थें, आदि शब्द आता है।

 Rull [ sub + was/were + v¹ + etc ]

Example

(1) I was writing a letter.

(2) she was searching the job in this country.

(3) we were doing the job in this village.

(4) Ram was going to my home.

(5) Radha was coming in my home.

Past perfect tense

Definition =  पास्ट परफेक्ट टेंस में क्रिया के अंत में चुका था, चुकी थी,  चुके थे आदि शब्द आता है।

Rull [ sub + had + v³ + etc ]

Example

(1) the patient had died before doctor came.

(2) the thief had fled away before police came.

(3) I had reached the school before the bell ring.

(4) he had came before eaten the food.

(5) I had already done my work.
