          Adjective  ( एडजेक्टिव ) - विशेषण 

Adjective वह part of speech है जिसमे किसी संज्ञा(noun) या सर्वनाम(pronoun) का गुण, संख्या, दशा आदि प्रकट हो । जैसे –

1. I have a fine pen.

2. Sita has two cats.

इन वाक्यों में fine, two शब्द adjective है क्योंकि fine से pen ka गुण प्रकट होता है। Two से cats की संख्या का बोध होता है।

अंग्रेजी में adjective तीन प्रकार  के होते है –

1. Adjective of  quality

2. Adjective of quantity

3. Demonstrative Adjective


1. Adjective of  quality ( गुणवाचक विशेषण ) – इस Adjective से Noun (संज्ञा) का गुण प्रकट होता है।

2. Adjective of quantity परिमाण वाचक विशेषण – जिस Adjective से संख्या का बोध होता है उसे Adjective of quantity कहते हैं ।                                                              Example –                                                                                           I have much time

                              There are two boys here.

इन उदाहरणों में much, two परिमाण वाचक विशेषण है।

3. Demonstrative adjective संकेत वाचक विशेषण – जिस Adjective से किसी व्यक्ति या वस्तु की ओर संकेत जाना जाए उसे संकेतवाचक विशेषण कहते हैं।

 जैसे – This school that tree Theses benches इसमें this, that, these संकेत वाचक विशेषण हैं।
