About IOCL Digboi Nursing Courses


Indian Oil Corporation Limited (AOD) offers the following two Nursing courses at Assam Oil College/Nursing School in IOCL (AOD), Digboi.

 

# Course Name: B.Sc (Nursing)


Number of seats: 30 [UR-14, EWS-03, SC-02, ST-03, OBC-08]


# Course Name: General Nursing and Midwifery Course (GNM) Course

Number of seats: 30 [UR-14, EWS-03, SC-02, ST-03, OBC-08]


Duration of the Course:

 

# The B.Sc (Nursing) course will be a full time regular course for a duration of 4 (four) years.

# General Nursing and Midwifery Course (GNM) course will be a full time regular course for a duration of 3 (three) years.

 

Affiliation:


# GNM students will be admitted to Assam Oil School of Nursing (AOSN), which is recognized by Indian Nursing Council.

# B.Sc (Nursing) students will get admission in Assam Oil College of Nursing (AOCN).

#AOCN is affiliated to Srimanta Sankardev University of Health Sciences, Guwahati and the course is recognized by the Nursing Council of India.


Eligibility Criteria of IOCL Nursing Admission


Educational qualification:


B.Sc (Nursing): HSSLC (i.e. 10+2) with Science (Physics, Chemistry and Biology) and English Core/English Electives with minimum 50% marks for General/EWS/OBC Category and 45 for SC/ % Number. ST/PWBD Category. The qualification should be from a government recognized board under AHSEC/CBSE/ICSE/SSCE/HSCE or other equivalent board.

 

General Nursing and Midwifery Course (GNM): HSSLC (ie 10+2) with Science (Physics, Chemistry and Biology) and English OR HSSLC with Arts (Mathematics, Biotechnology, Economics, Political Science, History, Geography) (i.e. 10+2), Business Studies, Accountancy, Home Science, Sociology, Psychology, Philosophy) and English Core / English Elective or Health Care Science - Vocational stream only, or any other equivalent examination as per INC norms.

 

Qualification should be from a Government recognized board under AHSEC/AISSCE/CBSE/ICSE/SSCE/HSCE with minimum 40% marks for General/EWS/OBC category and 35% marks for SC/ST/PWBD category. Preference will be given to candidates having HSSLC (i.e. 10+2) with Science (Physics, Chemistry and Biology) and English.

 

Gender: Only unmarried female candidates can apply for these courses.


Age Limit: Minimum 17 years and Maximum 24 years as on 31/12/2021 (Age relaxation applicable for SC/ST/OBC/PWBD candidates as per President's instructions). Certificate issued by the Board of Secondary Education is the only acceptable document for passing Matriculation/Higher Secondary in support of proof of age.

 

Age Relaxation: Category-wise age relaxation is mentioned below


#SC/ST: 5 years

#OBC-NCL: 3 years

#PWBD: 10 Years

# PWBD (SC/ST): 15 Years

# PWBD (OBC-NCL): 13 years


IOCL Nursing Admission Stipend and Training Details 

# B Sc (Nursing): Selected candidates will be paid a consolidated stipend per month for the first year - Rs. 2,800/-; 2nd year - Rs. 3,000/-; 3rd year - Rs. 3,200/-; And for the fourth year - Rs. 3,400/-


# General Nursing and Midwifery Course (GNM): Selected candidates will be paid a consolidated stipend per month for the first year - Rs. 2,500/-; 2nd year - Rs. 2,700/-; 3rd year - Rs. 2,900/-.


# Additional Benefits / Opportunities for both B.Sc (N) and GNM courses:


# All selected candidates will be provided with free hostel accommodation, self medical facility and uniform in AOD Hospital. Selected candidates will have to stay in the hostel of Nursing College.


# After passing out from the respective courses, the candidates will compulsorily be engaged for a period of 1 (one) year as an intern working in AOD Hospital or any other hospital of Indian Oil Corporation Limited. It can be extended up to a maximum of 2 (two) years at the discretion of IOCL (AOD). The working interns will be given a consolidated stipend of Rs. 15,250/- per month for GNM and Rs. 16,250/- per month for B.Sc (N) in AOD Hospital and an additional amount of Rs. 1,000/- per month if they are kept in Indian Oil Corporation Limited hospitals other than AOD Hospital. Accommodation facility will not be provided to them for the period during which they are employed as working interns.
