Attributive Adjectives and Determiners (Misplaced Words)

যখন কোন adjective কোন noun এর আগে বসে ঐ noun-কে qualify করে তখন ঐ adjective-টিকে attributive Adjective বলা হয়। যেমন,

A good teacher is always respected. 

Old books are sold here.

এ ধরনের qualifying adjective-গুলি কখনো qualified noun-এর পরে বসে না। যেমন,

Right: They have a very large garden. 

Wrong: They have a garden very large.

যখন কোন noun-কে qualify করার জন্য adjective এবং determiner উভয়েরই প্রয়োজন হয় তখন determiner-টি বসবে adjective-এর আগে, determiner-এর আগে adjective নয়। যেমন,

Right: This new watch is very good. 

Wrong: New this watch is very good.

বাংলায় "নতুন ঘড়িটি” বলা গেলেও ইংরেজীতে কখনো "New the watch" বলা যাবে না।
