Direct and Indirect object (Misplaced Words)

যখন Preposition এর ব্যবহার ছাড়া দু'টো object পাশাপাশি বসে তখন indirect object-টি সব সময় Direct object এর আগে বসে। যেমন,

Right: He gave me a flower.

Wrong: He gave a flower me.

Right: I bought my son an umbrella.

Wrong: I bought an umbrella my son. 

নিয়ম হচ্ছে, direct object কে আগে বসালে indirect object-এর আগে অবশ্যই একটা preposition ব্যবহার করতে হবে। যেমন,

He bought a book for me. 

She wrote a letter to me.

এক্ষেত্রে আরো একটা নিয়ম হচ্ছে এই যে, Direct object যদি কোন pronoun হয় তাহলে সেটাকে কখনোই indirect object-এর পরে বসানো যাবে না। যেমন,

Wrong: He gave me it.

Right: He gave it to me.

Right: I sent him to his mother. 

Wrong: I sent his mother him.
