Indefinite Adverbials of Time (Misplaced Words)

Always, never, often, seldom, soon, sometimes, scarcely, hardly—এই জাতীয় indefinite time adverbials-গুলি সাধারণতঃ principal verb-এর আগে বসে। যেমন,

Right: He always speaks the truth. 

Wrong: He speaks the truth always.

Right: They will never help me.

Wrong: They will help me never.

Right: It hardly rains in this part of the country. 

Wrong: It rains hardly in this part of the country.

কিন্তু "to be" verb-এর ক্ষেত্রে এই adverbial গুলি verb-এর পরে বসে। যেমন,

He is always late.

Not: He always is late.

She was never my friend.

Not: She never was my friend.
