Numerals (Misplaced Words)

Numerals বা সংখ্যাবাচক বিশেষণগুলিকেও determiner নামে অভিহিত করা হয়। অতএব এরা কোন noun-কে qualify করার জন্য সেই noun-এর আগে বসে। 

Numerals দু'রকমঃ Cardinal এবং Ordinal; One, two, three এভাবে যে কোন সংখ্যাকে Cardinal এবং first, second, third এভাবে যে কোন সংখ্যাকে ordinal numeral বলা হয়। যেমন,

I want two apples.

I answered the second question.

Wrong: I answered the question second. 

যখন কোন noun-এর আগে cardinal এবং ordinal উভয় numerals-এর প্রয়োজন হবে তখন Ordinal numeral-টিকে cardinal numeral-টির আগে বসাতে হবে। যেমন, 

Right: I read the first two chapters of the book. 

Wrong: I read the two first chapters of the book.

Right: He scored twenty runs in the last three overs.

Wrong: He scored twenty runs in the three last overs.
