Ought vs should

Ought vs should:

একই অর্থ প্রকাশ করলেও এ দু'টি modals এর মধ্যে ought অপেক্ষাকৃত শক্তিশালী। দু'টিই duty বা obligation প্রকাশ করলেও ought অনেক সময় strong moral obligation প্রকাশ করে। ব্যবহারগত পার্থক্য এই যে should এর পরে সরাসরি verb এর base form বসে কিন্তু ought এর পরে to + base form বসে। 

যেমন,

You should take this medicine.

If your mother is ill, you ought to visit her immediately.

এদের past form হচ্ছে যথাক্রমে ought to have এবং should have. যেমন,

You should have/ ought to have gone there.
