Persons (Misplaced Words)

first person, second person at third nerson-এর কথা সকলেই জানি। যখন একাধিক person-এর noun বা pronoun একসঙ্গে ব্যবহৃত হয় তখন শিষ্টতা দেখানোর খাতিরে second বা third person-কে আগে এবং first person কে পরে বসাতে হয়। যেমন,

Right: You and I can do this work.

Wrong: I and you can do this work.

Right Alam and I are good friends.

Wrong: I and Alam are good friend.

Second এবং third person এর বেলায় second person কে আগে বসাতে হবে। যেমন,

Right: You and he should go there.

Wrong: He and you should go there.

সবগুলো person-এর বেলায় -

Right: You, Nasima and I can work together.

Wrong: I, you, and Nasima can work together. 

তবে দোষ স্বীকারের ক্ষেত্রে আবার first person-কে আগে উল্লেখ করাই শিষ্টতার পরিচায়ক। যেমন,

Right: I and Karim broke your window. 

Not: Karim and I broke your window.
