Predicative Adjectives (Misplaced Words)

যখন কোন adjective মূল verb-এর পরে বসে কোন noun-কে qualify করে তখন তাকে Predicative Adjective বলা হয়। যেমন,

The man was ill.
She got very nervous.
The girl looks very beautiful.

এ ধরনের qualifying adjective কখনো qualified noun-এর আগে কিংবা মূল verb- এর আগে বসে না। যেমন,

Wrong: Ill the man was.
Wrong: Very nervous she got.
Wrong : Very beautiful looks the girl.

একমাত্র Exclamatory sentence-এর বেলায় এই নিয়মটির ব্যতিক্রম ঘটে। যেমন,

How beautiful the girl looks! 
How nice she is!

এখানে বরং adjective-টিকে পরে বসালেই ভুল হবে। যেমন,

Wrong: The girl looks how beautiful! 
Wrong: She is how nice!
