Reflexive Pronouns (Misplaced Words)

Myself, ourselves, yourself, himself, herself, themselves — reflexive pronoun বলা হয়। এ ধরনের pronoun ব্যবহৃত হয় noun বা pronoun-এর পরে, object হিসেবে reflexive transitive verb-এর পরে এবং preposition-এর পরে। যেমন,

I want to talk to the chairman himself.

He has hurt himself.

You can do it by yourself. 

The girl looked at herself.

কখনো কোন অবস্থাতেই reflexive pronoun বাক্যের subject বা অন্য কিছু হিসেবে বাক্যের প্রথমে বসতে পারে না। যেমন,

Wrong: Himself was killed by Rahim.

Wrong: Yourself can do it.

Wrong: Themselves are responsible for it.

Right: Rahim was killed by himself.

Right: You yourself can do it. 

Right: They themselves are responsible for it.
