"To answer the evildoers I should not waste time"
According to a popular legend, a saint arrived in a village. The saint was very simple-natured. He used to tell the right things of knowledge to the people who came to him. Due to this, his fame spread greatly in the village. Seeing the fame of the saint, a pundit started hating him. The pundit was afraid that if all the people started going to the saint, then his business would be ruined. That is why the Pandit started spreading wrong things about the saint in the village. One day when the disciple of the saint came to know about this, he became angry.
The disciple immediately came to his guru and said that Gurudev that pundit is spreading false things about you. We must answer him. The saint said that you do not get angry, because if you answer him, will these things stop spreading? These things will keep happening. That is why we should not waste time answering him. The saint explained to the disciple that when the elephant moves, the dog barks. If the elephant starts fighting with those dogs, then its stature will become small, it will be considered as a dog. That is why the elephant does not pay attention to the barking of dogs. He goes on his way with ease. Hearing these things, the disciple's anger subsided.
