Transitive phrasal verb (Misplaced Words)

Transitive phrasal verb-এর object হিসেবে যখন কোন noun বা noun phrase ব্যবহৃত হয় তখন phrasal verb-এর অংশ দু'টি (verb+adverb/preposition) একত্রেও বসতে পারে, আবার object এর আগে এবং পরেও বসতে পারে। যেমন, 

He turned off the TV.

অথবা

He turned the TV off.

কিন্তু উপরোক্ত phrasal verb-এর object যদি pronoun হয় তাহলে সে object-টি কখনোই phrasal verb-এর পরে বসতে পারে না। এ ধরনের object বসবে phrasal verb-এর দু অংশের মাঝখানে। যেমন,

Wrong: He turned on it.

Right: He turned it on. 

Wrong: He turned out me. 

Right: He turned me out.

কিন্তু এই নিয়ম আবার সর্বক্ষেত্রে প্রযোজ্য নয়। যেমন, 

Right: He looks after me. 

Wrong: He looks me after.

এ ধরনের verb-কে prepositional phrasal verb বলা হয়। এক্ষেত্রে preposition-টিকে অবশ্যই object এর আগে বসাতে হবে।
