Whether vs If

Whether vs If : 

এ দুটি শব্দ "কিনা" অর্থে অনেক সময় interchangeably ব্যবহৃত হয়। যেমন,

He asked me if / whether I would go with him.

কিন্তু infinitive -এর আগে, preposition-এর পরে, noun এর পরে এবং or not -এর সঙ্গে শুধুমাত্র whether ব্যবহৃত হয়। যেমন,

The question is whether to live or die.

It depends on whether he is well or not. 

It is your decision wnether you go or stay. 

He asked me whether or not. 

I was present there.

উপরোক্ত বাক্যগুলির কোনটিতেই whether -এর স্থলে if ব্যবহার করা যাবে না।
