Raj: Delhi Police Reaches Jaipur, Summons Minister's Son To Appear For Rape Case Probe By May 18
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;"><strong>New Delhi: </strong>A 15-member team of Delhi police reached Jaipur on Sunday to arrest Rajasthan minister Mahesh Joshi’s son Rohit Joshi who is accused of raping a 23-year-old woman in Delhi. According to a report by news agency ANI, when the police reached Joshi’s residence, he was absconding, so they put a notice on his door, and summoned him to be present in front of Delhi police by May 18.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Responding to the case, Congress MLA Mahesh Joshi said, “The police have not contacted me yet. I stand by the truth and abide by the law. I will fully cooperate in the police probe.”</span></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The probe comes after a 23-year-old woman accused Rohit Joshi of raping her multiple times between January last year to April this year. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“On the basis of a complaint of rape by a woman, zero FIR has been registered at Sadar Bazaar Police station. The woman has alleged that a man raped her on the pretext of marriage. FIR to be transferred to Rajasthan for investigation," Delhi Police told ANI.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The victim also alleged that she was in touch with the accused for a long time and he also had her obscene photos and videos.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“On 3 and 4 September 2021, I came to Delhi for an interview. The accused had already reached Delhi. He booked a room for me in a hotel and showed us as husband-wife. He promised me that he would marry me. After this, he raped me on many occasions and filmed it. He had threatened me with dire consequences if I dared to spill the beans. He told me that he is getting a divorce from his wife and that he would marry me. On many occasions, he thrashed me badly and forced me to dance. It was a huge trauma," the victim has stated in the FI, ANI reported.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">As per the ANI report, the accused has also made an affidavit in which the victim stated that they were both majors and made a physical relationship of their own will. </span></p>
