Ceasefire agreed after three days of conflict triggered by Israeli airstrikes in Gaza Strip, Egyptian officials say

Israel and the Palestinian militant group Islamic Jihad have agreed to a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip after three days of cross-border fighting triggered by surprise Israeli airstrikes.

Officials from Egypt, which mediated the deal, said that a truce would come into effect from 11.30pm (9.30pm BST).
